We are happy to announce the following judges for GMD 2008:

Jarret Cale

Jarret Cale plays Jeremy (aka teh_pwnerer) on the hit mockumentary PurePwnage.

Steve Engels

Steve Engels is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Toronto. Steve is active in research on video game design, but his main focus in on undergraduate teaching. He has won teaching awards at both the University of Toronto and the University of Waterloo, and has been contestant in TV Ontario’s Best Lecturer competition. Currently Steve is teaching the 4th-year video game design courses in computer science, as well as a new first-year introduction to video game design.

Jim McGinley

Jim is old enough to have made games for the TRS-80 Model III (before the Atari VCS). He is actively creating Jugglin’ - the greatest Web 2.0 Social Networking MMORPG game ever made. The current demo comes highly recommended from TIGSource. Jim also helps organize TOJam, and has played every game ever made.

Barry Rowe

Barry Rowe is a second year Mathematics PhD student at UofT. He has been vice President of the UTGDDC (formerly GPC) for two years, and has participated in the GMD twice. He has made several games video games over the years including rpgs, platformers, strategy, and adventure games.

Thuan Ta

Thuan Ta is a fourth year Computer Science undergrad at U of T and aspires to be a professional game developer. He will be taking up an internship at Ubisoft, Montreal in the summer of 2008 and is very excited about it. He’s also the coordinator for GMD 2008 and website/forums admin for utGDDC. :)
